3 months old!

Well today Landon is 3 months old, I cannot believe it's already been 3 months since our little guy was born. It has gone by so fast, but I can't even remember what life was like before he was around... probably boring and well rested :)

I'm not sure how much he weighs or how long he is, who knows where our scale is.  I'll be able to get his 4 month stats at his appointment next month.  I do know that my back aches at the end of the day so this little guy is not so little anymore!

Clothing Size:
Sadly most of your 3 month clothes don't fit anymore.  There are a few outfits I can still get on you, but they are snug :)  So we are moving up to 6 month size, and even some 6-9 month onesies.  They aren't that big on you either which is so sad!

Diapers:
Still at size 2, both during the day and at night.  I'm thinking we will have to move up to size 3 before we get to our other box of size 2s.  We might have to do some exchanging at the store.

Feeding:
You are eating 6 times a day/night, in addition to your nightly bottle.  You take 5 oz at every feeding, and then 6-8 in your bottle before bedtime.  I am thinking we will have to move you up from 5 to 6 oz soon because you are starting to get hungry sooner than 3 hours during the day.  Let's face it, we aren't going to feed every 2 hours!  So you might be going up soon.  We are looking forward to hopefully getting the go ahead to start introducing some pureed food at your 4 month appt.  You are a hungry little boy!

Hair/Eyes:
Your hair is getting lighter and lighter!  It's still dark but it has lightened up so much from when you were born, and I think it will continue to do so until you are a total blondie.  It's so cute! :)

You still have your pretty blue eyes and I am getting hopeful they will stick around!  You will be cute as a button with any color eyes, but yours are a gorgeous blue currently.

Sleep:
You are still doing awesome at night.  Pretty much the same as your 2 month post but we are putting you to bed a bit earlier.  You are sleeping from about 8:45 or so until around 5:30.  Some days it's 4:30, or 6, still a little inconsistent at what time it is, but as long as it's not the middle of the night, who cares?  You are a great sleeper and hopefully by next month, you will be sleeping even later!
Naps are still good.  You take about an hour to an hour and a half nap after you've been up for an hour, usually around 9:15 or so.  Then you will take about a 2 hour nap (on a good day!) in the afternoon around 2:00.  Throughout the rest of the day you take 30 minute catnaps sometimes about an hour after you eat.

Development:
-You aren't rolling over yet, or showing any signs that you want to.

-You still despise tummy time and will only tolerate it for a couple minutes before burying your face in your mat and crying... it's so pitiful :(

-You have your fists in your mouth nonstop.  If you take your pacifier when you are awake, it will only stay in there for a couple minutes before you spit it out and get your fists in your mouth.

-Spitting up is so much better thank goodness.  You no longer spit up loads  and loads right after eating.  You are much calmer while eating which has definitely helped.

-You are the loudest burper!  You give your daddy a run for his money.  Between that and gas, you are a very noisy little boy. :)

-You are drooling a ton, maybe we are on the fast track to teething?

-You have laughed a few more times for me, and it is just the absolute best sound ever!  Daddy hasn't heard it yet so we are working on that.

-You love to chew and drool all over my shoulder and arm when I hold you up there.  It's pretty cute but you get me pretty messy sometimes.

-You are still so active, constantly kicking your legs and moving your arms.  You make the funniest faces while you move too.

You are just the sweetest thing and we love you tons Landon!!!

Practicing Vocal Cords

Landon has been so vocal lately, it's hilarious.  He gets so excited if one of us mimics him and copies his noises, he will just keep going and going with a huge smile on his face.  Last week Michael got a video of him "talking" and this kid is loud!

Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Bread? Uhh yes please!

Last night for a fun Friday night dinner, I made pigs in a blanket for an appetizer, and then I tried a new recipe, Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Bread.  It was soooo good!  It was a fun and different way to have pizza on a Friday night.  I am tempted to go chow down on the leftovers from the fridge when looking at this picture.....

Yum!

Bottom Lip

Michael and I laugh about how cute Landon is when he gets upset before he starts crying.  He juts his bottom lip out and just looks so pitiful and pathetic.  So we finally got it on video tape last night.  He had just woken up and was still tired and we were getting him ready for his bath.  But he wasn't too happy.  We think it's the cutest thing though!

1st time laughing!

Well last Thursday (August 16th) Landon actually laughed for the first time!  While he was awake at least.  Sometimes he laughs in his sleep when I'm holding him, but this was the first time he laughed out loud.  And he hasn't done it since... But hey we will take what we can get!  I was just making silly noises and then laughing, and I think he started laughing because I was laughing.  Believe me, I've tried to repeat it about a hundred times since last week and he will grin from ear to ear, but no laugh.

We will keep trying! :)

Moving on Up!

to size 2 diapers!  Little guy used his last size 1 diaper last night.  So we are now solely on size 2s, they look so big on him!

Looks like somebody is happy about it!

Slippers

Just kicking it in my dino slippers this morning.

Notice the pictures are blurry because this kid is constantly moving!!  He has his arms and legs flailing nonstop all day long.

Bad Hair Day...

Landon is a little upset about what his hair is doing today.  Can't blame him, everyone hates a bad hair day :(

Brunch

This weekend we tried to go down to a restaurant down on the beach on Sunday.  Traffic was an absolute zoo though and we couldn't find a single space anywhere.  A year ago we would have parked a mile away and walked, but considering we didn't bring the stroller, that wasn't very feasible this time.  So we drove about 5 minutes down the road and wound up at a brunch place.  It was a little fancy for Landon's liking, and he let us know :)

But he settled down and we had a nice buffet brunch, complete with some delicious desserts and mimosas too.

Out to lunch!

On Saturday we headed over to Tampa for lunch at this delicious spot, Brick House Tap and Tavern.  It is such a cool set up with high tops, booths, couches, tables, a huge fireplace and bar.  They have tvs everywhere which was fun for watching the Olympics.  It would be a great place to go during football season.

Here is Landon all dressed up and ready to go in his Converse sneakers. :)

Go Pack Go!

Thursday night was the first Packers preseason game, so of course we had to get decked out in our jerseys and cheer them on.  Even though they didn't win, my boys looked awfully cute together in their jerseys.  Can't wait for a fun season of football filled weekends ahead!!

Bath Time Routine

Landon absolutely loves his bath time.  Here are a couple pictures of him during his bath and then after.  He has such a rough life...a nice warm bath, followed by a lotion massage, and then swaddled and a bottle.  Must be hard to be a 10 week old!

Chillin with Daddy

Landon loves spending some quality time at night with his dad!  Just 2 guys hanging out :)

2 months!

How is my little baby already 2 months old?  (Well actually almost 10 weeks by now, that's crazy!)

Landon had his 2 month well check up last Tuesday, complete with shots :(  I had been dreading this appointment because of the shots, but it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  Landon was super fussy from the moment we got there but Michael gave him a bottle after he got weighed and he calmed right down.  Pretty smart of me to make his appointment right at feeding time, huh?  When he got his shots, he did that terrible silent cry for about 10 seconds but then Dad picked him up and handed him over to me, and he calmed right down.  He never got a fever, just had a slight fussy period later that afternoon but we gave him just 1 dose of infant tylenol and he was fine.  I'm so glad he didn't get a fever or have a hard time sleeping!

Anyways our little buddy is growing like a weed!  Here are his 2 month stats:

Weight: 13.6 pounds (90th percentile)
Height: 23.5 inches (75th percentile)- I think this one would have been longer but this was during his hysterical crying fit in the beginning of his appointment before we fed him, and I think the nurse just wanted to get the measurement over and done with, so I don't know that he was stretched completely out!)
Head: 16 1/4 inches (don't remember the percentile)

Here is what Landon is up to these days:

-smiling all the time, especially when mom or dad smiles at you.  Unless you are hungry or tired, or fussy for some other reason, we can typically always get you to smile.  It's the cutest thing and Michael and I will do ridiculous things to see that cute gumless grin!

-You have been cooing for a while now, and you still do it like crazy.  We have entire conversations all the time.  I will mimic your sounds and you get so tickled and will coo again, and the cycle continues!  You have just recently started to discover that you can make different sounds.  You make very loud noises a lot and sometimes if I am not looking at you, I will think it's an upset sound.  But you are just testing out your vocal cords :)

-You are an awesome eater (your new pediatrician said you definitely don't miss a meal... :) )
You are eating 4 oz about every 3 hours during the day, and then you take a 6 oz bottle before bed.

-You are doing really good sleeping at night.  You were doing amazing and going about 6 to 7 hours straight, and then back down for another 2 or 3 after your feeding and a diaper change.  The past few nights you have woken up a little earlier, after about 5 hours.  Sometimes you have gas that wakes you up, then you realize you are hungry and I can't get you back down unless I feed you.  I'm sure you will figure out the sleeping through the night thing soon enough :)

-You are still sleeping in the bassinet in the pack and play in our bedroom.  We just sold our house, so the rest of our furniture will be here in less than 2 weeks, hooray!  So that means your crib will be here soon, and you will start sleeping in it, and in your own room!  I know it will be an adjustment but hopefully for the better, since you are a very noisy, grunty little sleeper!

-You take a good hour (at least) long nap in the morning, and usually about a 2 hour long nap mid afternoon.    Then you take a couple little catnaps about 20 minutes here and there.  At night you usually sleep for about 40 minutes before you play for a bit.  Then we do a bath.

-You love your bath time, it's the cutest thing ever!  Every night when Dad puts you in your whale tub you get this surprised look on your face, like you wonder where you are and what's going on.  When I start pouring water on you, you raise your shoulders and make hilarious faces.  You also stick your tongue out every which way trying to taste the water.

-You take your naps with a pacifier and sometimes go to bed with one.  Sometimes when it falls out you keep on sleeping and other times it wakes you up and you are not happy :(  You do the cutest thing when you are sleeping with your pacifier in- your little body will shake and you are laughing.  Your little mouth is grinning around your pacifier- it's pretty adorable.  You also play games with us and your pacifier.  If you aren't fussy and we try to give it to you, you smile and spit it out at us.  Then we try to put it back in your mouth and you spit it out again and grin.  You are pretty tickled at this little game.

-You still will usually only fall asleep for naps in my arms, then I try to transfer you to the bouncer seat or your swing.  If I don't wait long enough though, you wake up and we start all over getting you to sleep.  Once your crib gets here, we are going to train you to sleep there, at night and hopefully nap times too.

-You are still getting swaddled at night, we tried not doing it one night and you flailed so much you couldn't sleep.  We will probably swaddle you until about 4 months then try to transition you out.

-You are wearing your 3 month clothes and some 3-6 months, you fill them out nicely!  Daddy and I have been putting you in your Georgia onesies now because we don't think you will be able to wear them at the end of football season.  Good thing we have a couple jerseys too!

-You are not a big fan of your car seat at all!  You will scream and cry until you fall asleep.  If we stop at a red light, oh boy he hates it!

-You despise tummy time and will not put up with it one bit.  We are hoping this changes soon.  You have really good head control so we aren't too worried about it.

-You will lay on your mat and just stare at the dangling toys and rattles.  You kick your feet the whole time and never stop moving.

-You spit up all the time now.  You hate being burped and you now scream the whole time we are burping you.  You get so worked up and then spew up a ton.  We just broke the bibs out and they will be a fixture around your neck for the next few months.

-You are drooling a ton already.  You chew on your hands and all over my shoulder and arm when I hold you.

-Your hair is getting blonder and your eyes are still a gorgeous blueish grey.  They look green sometimes depending on what you are wearing.  They are so pretty though.

We just love you little boy and love watching you grow and change every day!

Happy boy before running errands with mom and dad.  We went to eat at the Tampa Bay Brewing Company from Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives with you-yum!

The night we tried pajamas instead of swaddling you.  You were not happy but you did look sooo cute.  I'm so bummed we won't get to see you in any of your adorable footed pjs when you are little bitty.  Hopefully in a couple months!

This is how you maneuver out of your swaddles typically.  You fight and fight your way out!

Just a random day- you love your changing table :)

Can't wait to see how much you will have changed by 3 months!
