5 months old!

Landon, you are 5 months old little buddy!  I think time is speeding up, because this past month went by even faster than the previous ones.  You are growing and learning so much and it is really fun to watch :)

Weight:
I don't know officially but when I get on the scale and then get on holding you, it works out that you weigh about 19 and a half pounds.  You are huge!  We will see at your 6 month appointment how much you weigh then.

Height:
You don't stay still even remotely long enough for me to try and measure you so we will wait until your appointment next month :)

Clothing Size:
You are pretty much in all 9 month clothes now, and some 9-12 onesies.  Even 6-9 month stuff is getting snug on you, and 6 month clothes are long gone :(  All your teeny tiny clothes no longer fit, so sad!  I need to buy you some more pants since you only have I think 2 or 3 pairs, and 1 is about to be too small.

Diapers:
Still in size 3s, both during the day and at night.

Feeding:
You eat every 2 1/2 to 3 hours during the day.  You will eat around 8:15 am, 11:15 am, 1:45 pm, 4:30 pm, and then get your night time bottle at 6:45.  Then you go all night without a feeding until somewhere between 4:30 and 5:30 am.  You are eating 34 oz during a 24 hour period.

We also started some solids!  We tried oatmeal cereal 3 or 4 times and you didn't do much with it.  I am thinking you just weren't ready for solid foods yet so we will try that again soon.  But we tried sweet potatoes this past week and you did so good!  I have a whole other post with pictures from your first time eating them :)

Hair/Eyes:
Your eyes are still that gorgeous blue and I am starting to hope they are going to stay that way!  I really love them and hope they stay blue.  You have such big eyes and they are adorable.

Your hair (that which you still have) is getting lighter and lighter every day.  It is definitely going to be blonde, it's just a matter of when it gets there.  It is also getting a little curly, I don't know if that will continue or not.  You are currently rocking a huge bald spot all along the back of your head which looks awesome :)

Sleep:
We are still working on our nap time habits.  You really struggle going to sleep in your crib during the day.  It takes so long to get you down that I usually cave in and put you in your bouncy seat to sleep.  I can get you to sleep in there in about 30 seconds so obviously it is much easier :)  You are only napping about 30 to 40 minutes three times a day so I don't often feel like wasting so much time to get you to sleep when you don't sleep for that long.  But we are are really going to work on it starting this week because soon you will outgrow that seat haha.  You need to be able to nap in your crib so training starts now... wish us luck!

Night time is still pretty good.  We are putting you down between 7 and 7:15 pm.  I would say 5 out of 7 nights you fall right asleep with your pacifier and mobile on.  You also have a white noise sound machine and a fan that both stay on all night long.  The other couple nights we have to go back in just really quickly and stick your pacifier back in a few minutes after we put you down.  On a good night you will sleep until around 5 am.  Then I will feed you and put you back down within 15 to 20 minutes.  Then you will sleep until around 8 am.  Some nights you wake up around 2:45, and are rotated sideways in your crib with your feet hitting the slates of the crib.  I think I might just put your back bumper on the crib and see if that stops you from waking up.  All I have to do is go in and rotate you back around.  Sometimes you fall right back asleep, other times it takes some work.  So I would love to cut those little episodes out completely!

Developmental/Fun Stuff:

You are obsessed with clapping. Anytime you are a little fussy, I can just start clapping my hands and you instantly stop fussing and start smiling. You don't get bored of it either, you will stare at my clapping hands for ten minutes.

You still have a constant stream of drool. You soak thru countless bibs everyday, but no teeth yet. Your gummy grin is so cute, I wouldn't mind if you don't get teeth for months.

You flip over every single time I put you on your stomach. There is no such thing as tummy time anymore because you flip over and wind up on your back in about 5 seconds. You are getting so strong.

You have really mastered grabbing toys. You will transfer a toy from one hand to the other very easily. It's so funny to watch because you are so active and constantly moving your arms and legs, but if I put a toy in front of you, you move both your hands towards the toy soooo slowly haha. You just concentrate so hard in order to get it. Sometimes your hands shake you are trying so hard.

You have started to really belly laugh when we do certain things. When daddy tickles you on your belly and by your armpits you just flail your arms like you have no idea what to do but it makes you laugh. When I undress you sometimes you belly laugh so hard when I take your arms out. It's hilarious.

You are such a wiggle worm when I change your diaper now. You are still happy but you are trying to move all over the place.

You are still so happy when I come get you in the mornings. You smile big and turn your head away then look back right away, almost like its too much excitement for you to handle!

You blow raspberries constantly, especially if one of us does it to you. You have to think hard about it though and sometimes forget how to do it :)

You love being propped in the corner of the couch. You think you are such a big guy when we do that. We have been practicing sitting up but you usually scoot your butt forward so you are kinda lying there. Oh well, you will figure it out someday.

You absolutely love when we stand you up. Every time you are lying down or sitting somewhere, I stand you up when I pick you up. As soon as your feet touch the floor, you grin and stretch so tall.  You just look all around and think you are such a big guy :)

You have expanded your music repertoire, thank goodness!!  It is no longer only Rudolph that you love which makes my sanity happy.  You pretty much love any song that we sing to you, but now you really love the ABCs. I like to think that means you will be super intelligent :)

You are getting better at sitting up, but can't do it on your own yet.  We practice almost every day but you still topple over quite a bit.

You were sitting up and then this happened :)

You are so much fun and growing into a little boy every day.  Can't wait to see what you are like at 6 months!

"They said 4 months was fun, well let me tell you, 5 is just a blast."

"Woop, woop, I'm 5 months old!"

GA/FL weekend

Last weekend, Michael, Landon, and I headed to Jacksonville for the GA/FL game. What an awesome weekend! My mom and dad met us in St. Augustine and watched Landon all at on Saturday so Michael and I could go tailgate and go to the game. The hotel we stayed at actually wound up being the same hotel all the players, coaches, cheerleaders, and of course UGA himself stayed at. It was so cool! We saw UGA in the lobby Friday night, and Saturday morning on our way to the game, we passed right by Coach Richt. We got off the elevator and he was getting on. Landon even got held by one of the payers. I mean a back up scrub because we didn't know who he was, but hey, it still counts!

The game was just incredible and I can't believe we actually won. The last 2 years we have beat Florida....I think Landon just might be a good luck charm :)

Here are some pictures from our fun weekend:

Landon got to meet Suzanne and Kyle finally :)

Then we met up with my mom and dad at the hotel.  We went down to the bar to have a couple cocktails before dinner.

The cheerleaders were in the lobby on our way to dinner.

We walked pass the team bus in the parking lot in the morning about 30 minutes before the team got loaded up.

Landon had a fun time with his grandparents while we were at the game :)

What a fun weekend!
