Well Landon is 4 months old, I don't know where that came from! He is 1/3 of the way to a year old, crazy! The last month he has changed so much I feel like, and I can only imagine what he will learn this next month.
Weight:
You are right at 18 pounds, so you are a big boy! In the 95th percentile for weight.
Height:
You are 26 inches, and the 90th percentile for height.
Clothing Size:
You are mostly in 6-9 month clothing. You can still wear a few 6 month outfits and you fit into 9 month outfits just fine. I can't believe how fast you are going through clothes. It seems to me that there is barely a difference between some month sizes but maybe there isn't. I still haven't packed up your newborn and 3 month clothes. They just look too cute hanging in your closet, I want to keep them there!
Diapers:
You are wearing size 3s now. You fit right into the range for them in terms of weight but somedays I think you might grow out of them soon. You grow so fast!
Feeding:
You are eating 35 ounces a day. According to the doctor, 28-32 is average so you are eating a little above that. It still usually isn't enough for you. You will suck a bottle down so fast and whimper when it is all gone :( Hopefully starting oatmeal cereal will help fill you up a bit!
Hair/Eyes:
You have lost a bunch of hair this month! You look pretty silly actually. (But cute silly!) You have all the hair on top of your head and the long hairs at the bottom. But you have a big bald spot across the back of your head, and also on the left side haha. You rub your head back and forth so much now in your crib as a way to soothe yourself, or you do it when you are mad. So you have lost a lot of hair. Daddy wants to cut it because he thinks it is too long and silly looking, but we aren't going to do that yet! :)
Your eyes are still a beautiful blue and I am crossing my fingers that they stay that way. They are gorgeous.
Sleep:
You are doing pretty good at night in terms of how much you are actually sleeping. Daddy and I put you down after your bath, lotion, and bottle at about 7:30 each night, give or take 15 minutes in either direction. You almost always will sleep until about 4 then I hear you crying on the monitor. Between 4 and 5, I usually have to go into your room and stick the pacifier back in your mouth and turn on the mobile about 3 times. That is my least favorite time of the night haha. Some nights, I only have to do it once. Other nights, you fuss several times throughout the early morning.
Typically you will be ready for your early morning bottle somewhere between 5 and 6 am. You will really cry at this point, and your pacifier and/or mobile do not satisfy you. I will give you a 5 oz bottle, burp you, and put you right back down. Then you typically will sleep until 7 or 7:15. You fuss a bit but I do the pacy/mobile trick and I can typically get you to sleep until 8. Some days you will sleep until 8:30! So you are sleeping a good amount, I would just prefer to cut out some of the trips into your room! Who knows maybe the oatmeal cereal will help? We will get there one day! :)
Naps are much shorter nowadays :( Lately you have been taking about three 30 minute naps throughout the day and one 45 min to an hour nap. I hope we can get to longer naps at some point. You are just so interested in everything going on around you and don't want to miss a single thing!
Development/Fun Stuff:
- You make so much noise! You are constantly babbling and happily screaming at us. It's so cute. On a couple of occasions when you are upset and have been crying, I swear you've cried, "Ma ma," but I think it's just a coincidence.
-You are blowing raspberries constantly. You are enthralled with making different movements and sounds with your mouth. It's so fun to watch you practice learning the beginning stages of language.
-You are still a drool monster. We have a bib around your neck 24/7. You drool all the time and have your hands in your mouth constantly. Everything you get a hold of, you attempt to shove into your mouth, no matter how big it is haha.
-You love when I dance or sing to you. You will grin and giggle at me no matter how bad I sound or how big of a fool I look like which is hilarious. You love Rudolph still but also Wheels on the Bus, as well as popular current songs. You like old school Spice Girls and Britney Spears too :)
-You have somewhat figured out what toys are. If we hold something out to you, you will try to grab it every time and get it on the first time probably 90% of the time.
-I think you are starting to get a little ticklish but I'm not sure yet.
-You LOVE your daddy and love when he plays with you. You just giggle nonstop and stare at him.
-You still love bath time and have learned to kick and splash which makes for a not so dry mom :)
-You get so excited when I come get you from your crib in the morning. You smile this huge smile and shake your whole little body back and forth, it's the best!
-You twist and turn in your crib now. A couple nights I have come in and you have been twisted all the way sideways haha.
-You are getting better at riding in the car, you don't hate it so much anymore.
-You absolutely LOVE looking at yourself in the mirror! It's my favorite thing to do with you. I walk with you into the bathroom and you grin and squeal at yourself. It never gets old.
-You love other babies and will just stare a them and smile.
-You are at such a fun age and I can't wait to see what you learn this month!
