Landon had his 2 month well check up last Tuesday, complete with shots :( I had been dreading this appointment because of the shots, but it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Landon was super fussy from the moment we got there but Michael gave him a bottle after he got weighed and he calmed right down. Pretty smart of me to make his appointment right at feeding time, huh? When he got his shots, he did that terrible silent cry for about 10 seconds but then Dad picked him up and handed him over to me, and he calmed right down. He never got a fever, just had a slight fussy period later that afternoon but we gave him just 1 dose of infant tylenol and he was fine. I'm so glad he didn't get a fever or have a hard time sleeping!
Anyways our little buddy is growing like a weed! Here are his 2 month stats:
Weight: 13.6 pounds (90th percentile)
Height: 23.5 inches (75th percentile)- I think this one would have been longer but this was during his hysterical crying fit in the beginning of his appointment before we fed him, and I think the nurse just wanted to get the measurement over and done with, so I don't know that he was stretched completely out!)
Head: 16 1/4 inches (don't remember the percentile)
Here is what Landon is up to these days:
-smiling all the time, especially when mom or dad smiles at you. Unless you are hungry or tired, or fussy for some other reason, we can typically always get you to smile. It's the cutest thing and Michael and I will do ridiculous things to see that cute gumless grin!
-You have been cooing for a while now, and you still do it like crazy. We have entire conversations all the time. I will mimic your sounds and you get so tickled and will coo again, and the cycle continues! You have just recently started to discover that you can make different sounds. You make very loud noises a lot and sometimes if I am not looking at you, I will think it's an upset sound. But you are just testing out your vocal cords :)
-You are an awesome eater (your new pediatrician said you definitely don't miss a meal... :) )
You are eating 4 oz about every 3 hours during the day, and then you take a 6 oz bottle before bed.
-You are doing really good sleeping at night. You were doing amazing and going about 6 to 7 hours straight, and then back down for another 2 or 3 after your feeding and a diaper change. The past few nights you have woken up a little earlier, after about 5 hours. Sometimes you have gas that wakes you up, then you realize you are hungry and I can't get you back down unless I feed you. I'm sure you will figure out the sleeping through the night thing soon enough :)
-You are still sleeping in the bassinet in the pack and play in our bedroom. We just sold our house, so the rest of our furniture will be here in less than 2 weeks, hooray! So that means your crib will be here soon, and you will start sleeping in it, and in your own room! I know it will be an adjustment but hopefully for the better, since you are a very noisy, grunty little sleeper!
-You take a good hour (at least) long nap in the morning, and usually about a 2 hour long nap mid afternoon. Then you take a couple little catnaps about 20 minutes here and there. At night you usually sleep for about 40 minutes before you play for a bit. Then we do a bath.
-You love your bath time, it's the cutest thing ever! Every night when Dad puts you in your whale tub you get this surprised look on your face, like you wonder where you are and what's going on. When I start pouring water on you, you raise your shoulders and make hilarious faces. You also stick your tongue out every which way trying to taste the water.
-You take your naps with a pacifier and sometimes go to bed with one. Sometimes when it falls out you keep on sleeping and other times it wakes you up and you are not happy :( You do the cutest thing when you are sleeping with your pacifier in- your little body will shake and you are laughing. Your little mouth is grinning around your pacifier- it's pretty adorable. You also play games with us and your pacifier. If you aren't fussy and we try to give it to you, you smile and spit it out at us. Then we try to put it back in your mouth and you spit it out again and grin. You are pretty tickled at this little game.
-You still will usually only fall asleep for naps in my arms, then I try to transfer you to the bouncer seat or your swing. If I don't wait long enough though, you wake up and we start all over getting you to sleep. Once your crib gets here, we are going to train you to sleep there, at night and hopefully nap times too.
-You are still getting swaddled at night, we tried not doing it one night and you flailed so much you couldn't sleep. We will probably swaddle you until about 4 months then try to transition you out.
-You are wearing your 3 month clothes and some 3-6 months, you fill them out nicely! Daddy and I have been putting you in your Georgia onesies now because we don't think you will be able to wear them at the end of football season. Good thing we have a couple jerseys too!
-You are not a big fan of your car seat at all! You will scream and cry until you fall asleep. If we stop at a red light, oh boy he hates it!
-You despise tummy time and will not put up with it one bit. We are hoping this changes soon. You have really good head control so we aren't too worried about it.
-You will lay on your mat and just stare at the dangling toys and rattles. You kick your feet the whole time and never stop moving.
-You spit up all the time now. You hate being burped and you now scream the whole time we are burping you. You get so worked up and then spew up a ton. We just broke the bibs out and they will be a fixture around your neck for the next few months.
-You are drooling a ton already. You chew on your hands and all over my shoulder and arm when I hold you.
-Your hair is getting blonder and your eyes are still a gorgeous blueish grey. They look green sometimes depending on what you are wearing. They are so pretty though.
We just love you little boy and love watching you grow and change every day!
Happy boy before running errands with mom and dad. We went to eat at the Tampa Bay Brewing Company from Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives with you-yum!
The night we tried pajamas instead of swaddling you. You were not happy but you did look sooo cute. I'm so bummed we won't get to see you in any of your adorable footed pjs when you are little bitty. Hopefully in a couple months!
This is how you maneuver out of your swaddles typically. You fight and fight your way out!
Just a random day- you love your changing table :)
Can't wait to see how much you will have changed by 3 months!
